Why You Shouldn’t Use Recycled Toilet Paper?

When we hear the word recycled, we usually relate to eco-friendly. Still, not every products that are recycled are good and beneficial for our health.

Typical example is the recycled toilet paper. The researchers that conducted a scientific study that has been published at the „Environmental Science & Techology“, said that all types of recycled products, such as toilet paper, napkins, paper towels contain chemical substances such as Bisphenol A (BPA) and Bisphenol S (BPS).

Both of these can be found in the products of recycled paper and they are very bad for our health.

Namely, the thermic paper is covered with bisphenol A with the intention to prevent the fading of the color and the texture of the paper. This process is mostly used in the paper for the fiscal accounts in order to maintain the data on the paper for a longer period of time. The harmful substance Bisphenol A is used in some papers, magazines, tickets…

When all these types of paper are recycled, the harmful substance remains in the new product – toilet paper or napkins.

The usage of the recycled toilet paper is related to disorders of the endocrine gland, the appearance of cancer, diabetes, as well as problems with the heart, liver and the thyroid gland.

That’s why, when purchasing something sensitive, such as the toilet paper, choose high quality, not recycled hygiene product.
